Corn Harvest Report #34: 63M73 Finishes First In Culpeper, VA at 264 BPA!

This river bottom plot in Culpeper County averaged 228 bushels per acre.  63M73, 64B28, and 63D28 each yielded over 240 BPA.  This June-planted crop illustrates how later planted corn can perform at high levels.

Corn Harvest Report #33: 63D28, 63P75 and 65D28 Stand Out in Stress Test on Sandy Loam Soil

In the real world testing, it’s best to have plots at different yield environments to better understand how a hybrid will perform under the toughest conditions.  These are not the yield levels we were hoping for, but none the less are as helpful in evaluating overall performance.  The hot dry July took a toll on this location near Salisbury, MD hurting pollination and grain fill.  At Tidewater Seed, we publish all the plot data we collect so our customers can be informed with confidence.

Corn Harvest Report #32: 63P75 Shows Best Stress Tolerance In Orange County Virginia!

This farm in Rapidan, Virginia saw a stressful July which pulled the top end yields off the table.  Even though the yields are low, 63P75, 62A28, and 65D28 showed their ability to handle the adversity in this corn-on-corn farm.  We are screening for products that perform well in this yield environment as well as in top end environments.

Corn Harvest Report #31: 62A28 Holding Steady in Talbot County MD Dryland Test at 198 BPA! 60D24 and 59R27 standout in earlier RM’s as promising new releases.

This Talbot County MD plot was planted on a typical silt loam soil for this area. Standability was very good across the entire plot. The rainy late summer and early fall impacted grain quality but 60D24 and 62A28 were standouts.

Corn Harvest Report #30: AXIS 63P75 Wins In Blackstone, Virginia!!

In the tough central Virginia environment, 63M73 and 63P73 yielded over 150 BPA.  This farm saw very limited rainfall this season and hybrids with good stress tolerance performed best.
